Roads end but great fishing lies ahead. The Hermosa Bar Bag lets you explore incredible fishing on your mountain bike or eBike. 

Named after Hermosa Creek in Colorado’s San Juan mountains, the Hermosa Bar Bag is the culmination of years of backcountry fishing accessed on mountain bikes. The design is inspired to create a simple, durable, and highly functional way to use your mountain bike or eBike to extend your fishing range.

The Hermosa Bar Bag attaches to the handlebars of any mountain bike or eBike and securely holds everything you need for a day of fly fishing. Handmade in Durango, Colorado, the Hermosa Bar Bag comes with three parts:

  • Rod tube

  • Gear sack

  • Clamshell

The unique clamshell design securely attaches to the rod tube and avoids any “walking of the rod tube” while you ride. You can ride for miles without fussing with your rod tube sliding out of your bars.

  • Top bungee cord for wet or extra gear

  • 4.3-liter gear sack to hold a day or more of fishing gear

  • Rod tube comes in two sizes to fit 4-piece fly rods – 8-foot or 9-foot (10-foot rod tube sold separately)

  • Fits within the ends of modern mountain bike handlebars (800 mm)

  • Easily use the rod tube and bar bag for other exploring – backpacking or bikepacking

  • Attach two-rod tubes for fishing with others

Materials

We craft the Hermosa Bar Bag from the highest quality fabrics not found in your typical fishing or biking gear. Key fabric details:

Clamshell outer and rod tube: EPX400 by Challenge Sailcloth. EPX400 is made from 100% recycled polyester with a reinforced “X” pattern weaved into the fabric. Twice as abrasion-resistant as comparable nylon. Waterproof to 200 PSI.

Clamshell liner and gear sack: HyperD 300 Ripstop. HyperD 300 is a polyester diamond weave fabric that is very durable and soft. Coated with DWR on the face and polyurethane (PU) on the rear for waterproof performance.

As much as possible, we use recycled, US-made components in the Hermosa Bar Bag.

Compatibility

Mountain bikes - fits flat, raiser bars or Jones bars.

eBikes - first same as mountain bikes.

Motorcycle - unknown at this time.
